The attempt at a military coup in Turkey might be the result of certain groups among the Turkish elite's desire to punish Erdogan for pursuing independent policies. Such an opinion was expressed by the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.
"Despite all the ambiguity in Erdogan's behavior, he still to a certain extent began to pursue policies more independent from the West in evaluating processes ongoing in the region. It is possible that pro-Western generals don't like this," Kadyrov believes.
The Chechen leader pointed to how "Turkish generals have become accustomed to interfering in politics and dictating domestic and foreign policy course to the country's leadership."
"Every such attempt has come from military men oriented towards the West," he added.
Kadyrov emphasized that Turko-Russian relations have begun to level out.
"Turkey is our closest neighbor, a country with which we have close economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties. Recently, thanks to the consistent, solid, and well-calibrated policy pursued by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the current trend is further strengthening of business and other ties with Turkey," the head of Chechnya said.
"We have lived through many revolutions. We know by our own experience that any military coup leads to serious consequences. We wish the brotherly people of Turkey a quick restoration of peace and stability," Kadyrov added.

Kerry: Claims US backed Turkey coup 'utterly false'

Secretary of State John Kerry called his Turkish counterpart on July 16 to offer U.S. support in the wake of a failed coup, and also to protest claims Washington had backed it.
The United States was quick to denounce the military revolt in its NATO ally Turkey and to express support for the elected government.
But some Turkish officials have reportedly suggested the United States was covertly sympathetic to the rogue military officers, a claim Kerry angrily denied.
State Department spokesman John Kirby said that Kerry had called Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu for a second day running to promise U.S. support in probing the putsch.
"He made clear that the United States would be willing to provide assistance to Turkish authorities conducting this investigation, but that public insinuations or claims about any role by the United States in the failed coup attempt are utterly false and harmful to our bilateral relations," Kirby said of Kerry's call to Çavuşoğlu.
Earlier, Turkish Labor Minister Süleyman Soylu had reportedly suggested the United States was behind the revolt, which triggered fighting that left at least 265 dead.
The government has crushed the revolt, but has demanded expatriate opposition figure Fethullah Gülen be returned to Turkey from the U.S. to stand trial.
Kerry said earlier on July 16, during a visit to Luxembourg, that the United States would entertain an extradition request if Turkey provided proper evidence against Gülen.

Erdogan tried to join the US/ City of london/ France coalition to re-arange the Mediterrane Arab nations and Middle East fiction.
Not because he was stupid, but to provide that his country gets the rightfull inside the new world.
Then happened Putin who had a problem.
You see, Black Sea is Russian territory and Turkey holds the only exit to the world oceans thru the Mediterrane (straits Bosphorus & Dardanelle).
And what he could do?
Stay put and drink himself to oblivion?
Now cards have been given. Putin has no other choice then to invade Turkey and all countries that can hold the straits.
Greeks will surely stay aside.
After all they are only humans on this planet that have yellow eyes, like their predecessors, demigods had.
