The Fermi 2 nuclear power plant will remain shut down for an unspecified time after a cooling system on the plant's turbine and related equipment failed Sunday.

DTE Energy spokesman Guy Cerullo said Tuesday that the utility is using the downtime to do other maintenance work at the nuclear facility on the shore of western Lake Erie in Monroe County's Frenchtown Township.

SUMMARY if no time for video:
(1) There still is no explanation for why the pumps shut down,
(2) they still don't know what the problem is,
(3) leaks were identified but spokesperson (Viktoria) "not sure where they are" - and
(4) the situation is ONGOING. This is CONFIRMED. Also, Viktoria was very cautious about discussing radiation releases. You can easily detect she is nervous, and says several contradictory things in rapid succession. She went from "no radiation was released that WE DIDN'T EXPECT OR ANTICIPATE" which was then quickly corrected to "no radiation was released" - around 6:55 in video

Original phone call lasted 22 minutes, but she was so redundant in her explanations, about basically everything, that I had to edit the call for time. It was almost painful to listen to her textbook nuclear propaganda over and over again.
