One of those songs where the vast majority don't understand the words, but the sound and possible memories it brings back, make it a classic.

'Gaudete' is from a collection called Piae Cantiones ecclesiasticae et scholasticae veterum episcoporum (Pious ecclesiastical and school songs of the ancient bishops) published in 1582 in Turku, Finland. The song may be much older, but that is the first known version of it.
