The stories we tell ourselves about life in order to make sense of it (think religions) go from the mundane to the fantastical.

What if we tell ourselves NO STORY what-so-ever? Would perhaps life make more sense if we stick to reality, to KNOWN facts instead of belief and faith (which by their very natures deal with notions, ideas, suppositions, conjectures and the unprovable–which is the very reason you are told you must believe and have faith–which means you are open to the biggest CON-JOBS on Earth).

You don’t need to believe a religious story to be moral. The consequences of morality and immorality are quite enough for most folks to get a handle on the best way to live life. And if that doesn’t work for you, EVERYONE learns rather quickly that, the way you treat others is how you get treated.

There are over 6,000 belief-systems in the world. Even if you started investigating yesterday, it is quite possible you might not finish until after you’ve been dead for a thousand years, which is why most people acquiesce to the religion they were born into (THE END–no investigation needed).

Folks tend to believe their FEELINGS work like a BULL SH-IT METER. Tell that to the families of the Jimmy Jones victims, or if you don’t like that one, how about the 5,999 religions that YOU DON’T FEEL are true, but 6 billion people other than you, FEEL one of them–theirs–IS TRUE. And if that doesn’t work for you, just recall a time when something FELT right, but turned out wrong. So much for trusting your every feeling.

So which feelings can you trust? THAT is knowable only through personal experience wherein the actual result, intended, is equal to the feelings. ON THE OTHER HAND, some religions decry the philosophy of “IF IT FEELS GOOD DO IT” while at the same time saying, “I FEEL it’s true.

And being realistic for a moment, if God wants you to know something (assuming such a being exists) why would IT write a book? SURELY (and don’t call me Shirley) IT would have a more direct way of communicating.

FOOL ME ONCE and I learn. FOOL ME TWICE and my brain went on vacation without me.

ANYONE AND EVERYONE who preaches only belief and faith is either an idiot, ignorant or has something to gain.

so WHY do I post such tings occasionally? I like to give people things to think about, consider, evaluate, question, THAT'S IT!
