The Prophecies of Fatima

The Prophecies of Our Lady of Fatima came true when Pope John Paul II was shot and went through the ordeals and challenges that eventually lead to the circumstances of his canonization as a saint. The Fatima Prophecies predicted the whole thing as well as many other details concerning the Roman Catholic Church. Previous popes had chosen not to give the third and final prophecy to the public because they thought the condemnation of the church, described in great detail in the prophecies, cast a dark shadow over the papacy. It was held back for forty years before it was shared. This reluctance cast doubt on whether the Church had released the entire prophecy or just a part of it. Thus, the mystery of the “missing parts” of the Third Prophecy of Fatima was generated by those who wondered and heard rumors about other prophesies in hidden documents that were even more damnable than what was already released.

The confusion of the missing pieces to the third prophecy is cleared up when the communications of Father Augustine and Mother Lucia are added to the third prophecy. These remarks were given as elaboration by Mother (Sister) Lucia, one of the children who received the communications from “the Lady of Fatima”, to Father Augustine so that he might understand what the future would be in relation to the prophecies. In these conversations, Mother Lucia explains, in more detail, what the future will hold for humanity if they do not repent and turn towards Christ, the Holy Mother, the rosary, prayer, and religious devotions.

The vision of the third secret, and its commentary, is not only an alarming prophetic warning but it is also a message of great hope for the Church which is under the protection of the Mother of Jesus. In essence, Lucia, and the other two children, saw the same vision as St. John wrote about in his Book of Revelation – the Apocalypse — and the future the children describe is just as frightening.

The Vatican announced the content of the third secret of Fatima on May 13, 2000. At one time, it was speculated that it was to be announced in 1960. Because of the way the second secret ends, trailing off into a vision that is the third secret (which is actually a visual representation of the last sentence of the second secret), the third secret was withheld from the public.

We are now living through the ominous vision of the third secret. Truly we are witnessing the fulfillment of scripture passages from Revelations. God in His goodness has revealed, through the Holy Mother, all that we need in order to have “the ancient serpent, who is the devil or Satan, chained up for a thousand years and hurled into the abyss…so that he might not lead the nations astray” (Revelations 20: 2, 3). Without the Holy Mother and the true devotion to Her most loving and Immaculate Heart, the Church will remain an empty, barren desert bereft of its contents by ignoring the prophecies of Fatima.
