I am reminded of the brief dialog between Grand Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader that took place just before Han Solo and Luke Skywalker set their sights on destroying the Death Star while traveling in the Millennium Falcon spaceship. I adapted this part of the two protagonists' dialog to today's political situation:

TARKIN: The rebels are very vocal and increasing in number with each passing day. I don't like how their protests are influencing public opinion regarding the election results. There is a danger that we will be exposed for fraud. Should we admit that the reported vote tally is inaccurate and escape in our private jet to your hideout?

VADER: Stop our campaign? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances!
