Once upon a time, it's said, Rayelan and Gunther were involved in the movement of considerable wealth, to the Philippines.

It's said they were to have been fitly paid for their role in that - but something happened to the payment they were to have received.

Also in the Philippines - or perhaps it's the same lump of wealth; only the bankers would know, I guess - was a trust fund that had been rolling over for a long time. As of a few years ago it was worth billions. It had belonged to a gentleman who had died; it was to come into the hands of his widow.

It moved ever closer, but was ultimately "held for ransom" by the bankers there, and is still there today.

As it happens, it was the widow's intention to share a good portion of that wealth with a group of cyberfolks who share a common interest in making the world a better place. When they knew there might be money enough to do it with, they set about planning for it in earnest.

They got so far as to generate a worthy Mission Statement and numerous Overview Strategy documents for key areas of human activity - but then, the money stayed with the bankers.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Q knows something about both bits of money. Wouldn't surprise me if the billions are part of the "lever" with which the Q et al. are presently shifting the world - and if so, more power to 'em; there's little question we're in favor of what's apparently happening right now.

If asked, I would "vote" for Rayelan and Gunther's payment for services rendered to come home to them now. I would vote for the widow's billions to be released into her care, too.
