Did you vote to day?

Most would answer yes, no, or not yet. I need to answer, "I don't know."

Now, you may wonder why i answer that way. the reason is because to do other wise is to put a lot of faith in a system we can all agree is at least not perfect. As well as trust in people appointed by people we know are not working in our best interests. so as the saying goes,"Show Me!!"

How can you prove that the ballot you punched was read into the computer properly?

also, what is the speed of those card readers? any chance they are fast enough to produce the speedy results we are blessed with from the media?

the cards take time to feed into the hopper. even if it could process the cards (without jamming) at 100 a minute, how do you count the ballots before the polls close?

printers jam, so would the ballot readers. what happens to those ballots that are damaged or unreadable?

i contend that the average person places more concern in their tax returns, than the method used to tally their votes. the only thing any voter can claim and prove is that they checked in, signed their names, was given a ballot to punch, which was put into a box or container. after it leaves their hands, they neither know or care what transpires with it. for all they know, it was dumped in to a paper shredder or burned. so unless you can prove that your voting ballot was tallied as you had cast it, it may well not have been.
