Mexicans are taking back the American Southwest one Mexican at a time. When the population of Mexicans who are citizens of both Mexico and the United States, outnumbers American citizens, will they vote to secede and merge the southwestern part of the United States with Mexico?

What is the precedent for this? All we have to do to see the precedent is look at the war in Kosovo.

How is the Revolution in Yugoslavia Like the Revolution in California?

RMNews - October 5, 2000 -- According to the state run Yugoslavian Newspaper, Slobodan Milosevic's opponent, Vojislav Kostunica is now the democratically elected president of Yugoslavia.

If this is true, and if Milosevic slips silently away in the night, Yugoslavia will be a democracy with a Western leaning president. I am not going to be sure that Milosevic is out of power and out of the country until I see him deplaning somewhere else, like Russia or China. Milosevic was well known for striking in the middle of the night.

If Belgrade gets through the night without Milosevics supporters trying a bloody coup, then I will believe that the Butcher of Belgrade is gone forever. Hopefully this will be another 'bloodless' revolution and a new democracy will have been formed.

But even if a new democracy is formed, will Serbia be free from war and bloodshed? Could this democratic revolution have a down side?

Let's consider an earlier revolution in a land that has a similar, though less violent and bloody history.

About a hundred and fifty years ago, one of my direct grandfathers took part in a revolution. He was one of the rag tag band of citizen soldiers who raised a Bear Flag and claimed California for the United States of America.

Before the Yankees came to California, it was a foreign country that had passed from hand to hand with minimal bloodshed. As early as 1532, just 40 years after Columbus' first voyage, Cortez, a Spanish explorer, set sail for California. However, no gold was found and Spanish interest in the area quickly faded for two centuries.

In the 1760's, Russia began a concerted effort to solidify the fur trade. Rumors of this reached Spain, and in 1768, King Carlos III ordered the occupation and fortification of San Diego and Monterey.

In October of 1768, Jose de Galvez, visitador-general, and Father Junipero Serra, a Franciscan monk mapped the first four missions to be built in Alta California. This led to the period of Spanish rule that is best known as the mission and ranchero years.

From 1810 to 1821, war in Mexico slowly displaced Spanish rule from North America. The change to Mexican rule was barely felt in California which had been self sufficient for some time. California was declared a territory, rather than a state. Governors were sent out from Mexico City, but the Spanish Californians had little respect for Mexicans.

As a result, the Mexican government in California was unstable. Between 1831 and 1836, California had 11 different governments sent from Mexico City. The Californians completely ignored three other Mexican governors. The real power base in California transferred to a small number of families of Spanish descent who now became owners of permanent and large ranchero grants.

The first European American Yankees in California did not intend to overthrow the Mexican authority. The United States declared war with Mexico May 13, 1847. A small uprising of California Yankee settlers caused the only fighting in the north, and that resulted in the June 14 to July 11th Bear Flag Revolution.

The agreement made with the 'Californios' in 1846, and verified in the Treaty with Mexico in January 1848, was that the Mexican land grants to the giant Ranchos would be honored. This became a tremendously complex issue once gold was discovered. The Yankees in California realized that the influx in Yankee population caused by the discovery of gold, made it possible for a quick transition to United States statehood, because there were now MORE Yankees in California than Mexicans.

In June of 1849, less than 18 months after California became a legal U.S. territory by the treaty that ended the Mexican American war, Governor Riley called for a constitutional convention. The convention drew the state boundaries and designed the state flag and seal. The convention also limited suffrage to white males. Mexican law allowed Indians equal citizenship. The limiting of suffrage to white males set up a two tier class system in California that persists to this day.

On September 9, 1850, California formally gained statehood. For the last150 years Mexico has nursed her wounds and secretly plotted to 'take California back' one Mexican at a time!

About the same time the Spaniards were exploring California, the Turks were invading what is now called Yugoslavia. For about the same length of time that California passed from one rule to another to another, Yugoslavia did the same thing passing back and forth from the Ottoman Empire to European rule.

In California, the animosity between the Yankees and the Mexicans was created due to race. The White Yankees did not want the brown Mexicans and Indians considered 'equal'.

In Yugoslavia the hatred was created due to religion. The Ottoman Empire was Muslim. The Europeans were Orthodox Christian and Catholic. The Killing Fields of Kosovo became a battle field between Muslim and Christian that was soaked in blood decade after decade.

In California, a movement is growing to reclaim California for Mexico. Some of the first steps were taken several years ago when California citizens of Mexican descent were given permission to retain their American citizenship and also have Mexican citizenship with voting rights. With the help of the present Democratic Federal government (Clinton), hundreds of thousands of illegal Mexican aliens are given their citizenship each year. These new United States citizens do not speak English nor do they believe the United States is their home. They are Mexican citizens, and the United States is the enemy. Californians of European descent become frustrated and angry as more and more illegal aliens flow across the border and reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs.

In Yugoslavia, the same thing happened. In Kosovo, illegal immigrants from Albania began moving in. This happened during the occupation of Yugoslavia by the Soviet Union. During the 50 year occupation, Muslim Albanians moved into Christian Serbian Kosovo. Soon there were almost as many Albanian Muslims in Kosovo as there were Christian Serbs.

Finally the Albanians decided that they wanted to go to their own schools. They wanted to speak their own language and they wanted to have their own police departments and governments. This is akin to the Mexicans who live in California demanding that they be taught in Spanish in the schools. Have government documents written in their language and be allowed to set up their own schools, police departments and governments.

At the moment, bilingual education in California has been voted out, but most school districts ignore the law and continue teaching Mexican children in Spanish. Government documents are still written in Spanish, and the fight between the two tiered Californian cultures continues.

In Kosovo, as in California, the 'illegal immigrants' consider the land theirs by hereditary right. In Kosovo, the Muslim Kosovo Liberation Army is backed by communist sympathizers around the world. Drugs supply the money they need to buy weapons. In Mexico, the Atzlan Liberation Army is also funded by drugs. Their training comes from Sandinista and Cuban communists and their weapons come from Chinese and Russian communists.

California is a democracy. One by one, Mexico is sending its people across the border. These people become United States citizens and vote in democratic elections.

In a few short years, Mexicans will make up one third of the population of California. If, at that time, the democratically elected government decides it wants to secede from the United States and form its own country, or join again with Mexico, the precedent has been set for it to do so.

If the United States tries to stop Mexican California from setting up its own schools which teach its children in their native language ...

If the United States tries to stop Mexican California from setting up its own government, declaring Spanish the official language, and conducting all government business in Spanish...

If the United States tries to stop Mexican California from setting up all-Mexican police forces which may subject European and African Californians to beatings or worse...

If the United States tries to stop California from seceding, the precedent has already been set for the United Nations and NATO to come in and bomb the offending white Europeans back to the stone age.

The United Nations sided with the Albanian Muslims who had settled in Serbian territory 50 years ago against the Christian Serbs who had lived there for a hundred or more years.

What will happen NOW if Serbia becomes a democracy and wants its centuries old territory back? What will the United Nations and NATO do with the Muslim Albanians who are currently occupying Kosovo?

When the Mexicans take over California, what will the United States do? If the United States goes to war with Mexico, will the United Nations and its Gurkha army fight on the side of Mexico?

When the democratically elected government of Yugoslavia tries to take back the land that as been Serbian for centuries, what will the United Nations and the New World Order do?

If the United Nations gives Kosovo back to Serbia, this will anger the Muslims. At the moment the Muslims are angry with the entire infidel world over the Israeli Temple Mount massacre and the 70 Palestinians who have been murdered by the Israelis. Any wrong step in Kosovo regarding the Albanian Muslims could see a Holy Jihad spread to Europe just as it did in the middle ages and then on to the entire world.

The Yugoslavian democratic revolution may feel good today, but there are going to be rocky times down the road and these rocky times could come sooner than we know. Californians need to watch the Yugoslavian Revolution very carefully because what happens in Yugoslavia, may very soon happen in California.
