HAVERHILL (AP) - Court documents say items valued at thousands of dollars were left at the home of two murdered Dartmouth College professors, although a source has said investigators are leaning toward burglary as a motive for the killings.

Two sculptures appraised at $18,500, an $18,000 painting, $600 diamond earrings, gold bracelets and rings, a silver tea set, and $1,200 worth of silver flatware were left untouched at the home of Half and Susanne Zantop, The Boston Globe reported Thursday. Cash also was on a countertop when a dinner guest walked into the home and discovered the bodies on Jan. 27, the newspaper said, quoting sources.
